Judy was born with an unknown type of dwarfism in Darby, Pennsylvania, the only child of Richard and Irene Wilson. Her family moved to Wichita, Kansas when Judy was 9 and after high school, she attended Emporia State Teachers College for a few semesters. After her father’s death in 1969, Judy and her mom bought a home in Springfield, Pennsylvania and she began working for Sun Oil Company.
Through Lou’s grandmother’s matchmaking, Lou and Judy were married on August 17, 1974. They began married life in Washington, D.C. She worked in Sun Oil Company’s office of Government Relations while Lou worked at the Pentagon. Judy loved traveling around DC and Virginia, exploring new places and showing them to her friends and relatives.
Their daughter, Rebecca, was born in 1975 and in 1976 the Army transferred them to Germany, where they would spend seven years. Judy loved traveling around Germany, specifically avoiding the tourist areas, and joyfully sharing her new home with neighbors and visiting family. Judy worked for the American Red Cross headquarters while they were there.
Through the grace of their Lord Jesus, Judy and Lou were baptized together in 1979. Judy found Precept Bible Studies soon after and eventually became a leader and mentored two women to become leaders.
In 1985, they moved back to be near their family in Pennsylvania and Judy worked at BCM International and at Interserve, fulfilling her desire to work with and serve missionaries. In 1999, with the birth of their second granddaughter, Judy and Lou moved to Colorado to be near their daughter and her family.
Above all, Judy loved Jesus. She also loved to laugh, spend time with her family, play games, drive in the mountains, read books, try new restaurants, travel to England and Hawaii, and spend time with her friends. Judy is survived by her husband, Lou, daughter, Becky, and granddaughters Kiera, Brynnae, and Shaelyn.
