

Julia Kay Landon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away in the comfort of her home in Colorado Springs, CO on April 29th, 2026. Julia was born on March 23rd, 1951, in Trenton, MO, as the first daughter to James Andrew Gilchrist and Alma Laurine Dreessen.
Julia graduated from Gladbrook High School, in Gladbrook, IA in 1969. She went on to pursue her passion for healthcare, graduating from the Broadlawns School of Nursing (Des Moines, IA) in 1974. She married her loving husband, Charles Michael Landon, on June 23rd, 1973, beginning a beautiful life together that spanned more than five decades. As a lifelong learner, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Regis University in 2009, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Beyond her professional life, she was a devoted participant in multiple sewing and quilting groups within the Pikes Peak region, where her talent and love for the community touched many.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; her sons, Matt Landon of Peyton, CO and Stephen (Angela) Landon of Rockford, MI; and her daughter, Marcia (Thomas) Hunt of Peyton, CO. She was a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren; Jonathan, Alyson, Evan, Megan, Janie, Maverick, and Carter. She is also survived by her siblings, Jeff (Sharon) Gilchrist, Kelly (Diane) Gilchrist, Kris Gilchrist-Dull, and Lisa Gilchrist Reinhard.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Kevin Dull.
