

Julia was born in Conway, Arkansas to Louis and Mary Dussex on June 23, 1938. She went to Saint Mary’s High School, Blair Business College, and Pikes Peak State College in Colorado Springs. She worked as a secretary for the basketball coach for Air Force Academy, Norad, and as a Computer Programmer Analyst for the City of Colorado Springs.
She participated in a sewing circle, parents without partners, TOPS and a book club where she met many lifelong friends. She loved to travel and took many trips with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Pittenger, her daughter, Carol Henry, her son, Andrew Travis, and brother, Louis Dussex.
Julia is survived by Ted Travis, Taylor Travis (Amber) Alice, Julian, Memory Travis (Lauren), Yuma and Yusei Watanabe, Brian Travis (Malou), Denise Smith-Silva (Dain), Jill Travis (Leslie), Samuel Travis (Amilyana), Travis Henry (Holly), Amanda Fortner (Aidan) and Mary Kerby.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 10:00 am at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
A burial of ashes service will follow at Memorial Gardens.
