Loving wife, best friend, the love of her husband’s eye passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She retired from El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Accounting Department to become the Home Residential Lifestyle Director, a title she gave herself and so aptly deserved. She never passed on the opportunity to read a cook book and was an exceptional cook. She also loved traveling to Mexico and enjoying the sun and the sand while savoring a Margarita. Her presence will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her Husband Larry, Mother Dorothy Bonkowski, Sisters Barbara (Knop) and Sandra (Barkhus) and Brother Richard Bonkowski as well numerous Nephews and Nieces. She is preceded in death by her Father Bernard Bonkowski. Karen’s wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Detroit, Michigan.
