Karen Romero

Karen Black Romero, beloved daughter, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on January 19th 2012 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born at Fort Carson Army Base- CO, on May 28th, 1956 to Harvey and Irma Black.

Family was extremely important in her life, including her dogs, which she considered family. Karen loved walking her dogs, mainly in Bear Creek Park and Red Rocks Canyon with her son and daughter. She also enjoyed spending time with her mother and could be found with her daily visiting and playing cards. Her passion was spending time with her three grand-daughters. Karen put those she loved above all else and would truly do anything for them.

She now joins her father Harvey and baby brother Jeffery. Karen leaves behind a loving mother, Irma Black; children, Ryan Romero & Rachel Arvelo; grand-daughters, Rayna, RaNyce, Brynn and another granddaughter on the way and a brother Randy Black.

A memorial service will take place Thursday, January 26th at 11:00 am at Swan-Law 501 N. Cascade Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at local ENT branches to Karen Romero’s Memorial Fund
