

Born September 4, 1949 to Rose and James Sullivan, Kathleen was a sixth generation San Franciscan and attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1968. Genealogy was a passion and she compiled family histories and photos as a gift to future generations.
She married Leslie Imada in Broomfield, Colorado on February 14, 1970 and welcomed daughter, Julie, in 1972. Their son, Ian, was born in 1976.
An accomplished seamstress, in the 1980’s, she founded her own children’s clothing business, Originals by Ann. Kathy was also an accomplished textile weaver and studied under the guidance of members of the Navajo Nation.
Kathleen was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She gave her time to various efforts ranging from involvement in the Japanese American Citizens League, hosting family holiday gatherings, and spending time with her three grandchildren. Kathy was a strong advocate of women entrepreneurs and had a core group of like-minded business savvy friends. Later, after Les suffered a stroke, she spent many years being his caretaker and advocate.
She is survived by husband Les Imada; daughter Julie and granddaughter McKenzie; son Ian, wife Sallie and grandsons, Orion and Ronan. Services will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on 3 December 2017. Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass and a reception. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado will follow at a later date. Flowers are welcome as are donations to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Kathy’s name.
