Kenneth Wayne Tapey

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Tapey was born to Beulah Fern and Emil Tapey on February 6, 1947 in Colorado Springs, CO. He passed away on March 5, 2025 at home. Kenneth lived his life in Colorado, Arkansas, and South Dakota. He graduated from Westminster High School. He then went on to attend Denver University and The Automation Institute of America.

He began his long career, starting in 1968 working in tool and die. Kenneth then went into sales and maintenance. He retired from work in 2021.

Kenneth was a member of the choir at Christian Life Cathedral and had a beautiful singing voice. His other passions include water skiing, boating, snow skiing, hunting, and four-wheeling. He was a true lover of nature and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Randi Johnson, whom he met later in life, but they were able to share a truly full love story.

Kenneth is also survived by his brother, Harold Tapey, his children, Reneé Tapey of Denver, Sherie Terranova (Rob Terranova) of Castle Rock, Sharon Morris (Ryan Morris) of Thornton, Christi Garcia (Dan Garcia) of Golden, Pam Cingoranelli (Matt Cingoranelli) of Castle Rock, Shaun Tapey of Edgewood, NM, Nancy Watkins (Jim Watkins) of Albuquerque, and Ronica Welborn of Albuquerque. His grandchildren McKenzie Butler, Olivia Butler, Tayler Terranova, Morgan Terranova, Caitlyn Steen, Madison Steen, Landon Morris, Lilah Morris, Walker Morris, Rachel Garcia, Hannah Garcia, Ashlyn Cingoranelli, Brayden Cingoranelli, Camden Tapey, Shauna Sanchez, Philip Sauer, Justin Sauer, Tricia Ward, Robby Welborn, and Aspen Welborn and 20 great grandchildren.

Kenneth joins his parents Emil Tapey, Fern Tapey in Heaven, along with Linda Tapey (wife), and Lee Tapey (brother).

A visitation for Kenneth will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A Funeral will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, with a Reception to follow from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm.

Kenneth will then be laid to rest Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 2:00pm at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S 26th St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
