Kyle DeWeerd

Kyle Allen DeWeerd was born in Colorado Springs, CO on August 18, 1997 and passed away on February 6, 2025. Kyle brought light, laughter, and unwavering kindness to everyone he met. He attended Rampart High School (2016) before earning a BSN from Calvin University, Grand Rapids, Michigan, a profession in which he took great pride.

On Sept. 9, 2023, Kyle married Allie Popelar. He adored Allie and embraced their life together with deep love and devotion. His commitment to his family was evident in everything he did, especially as a pillar for his younger brother, Kedrick. They frequently spoke about their faith-based values.

Kyle had an incredible ability to find humor in any moment, making even the hardest days a little brighter for those around him. He was rarely seen without a smile. Kyle had a gift of bringing people together. He never missed an opportunity to show up for his loved ones—whether at sporting events, birthdays, or other life events. His presence was magnetic, his joy infectious, and his smile ever present... a true balance of wisdom and humor. Kyle had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and uplifted. As one of his college professors observed, Kyle was an exceptional young man in every way—intelligent, warm and caring, motivated, and very much in love with his wife.

Kyle was predeceased by his grandfather, Anthone Paul Kort (Papa). Kyle is survived by his dear wife, Allie; parents, Greg and Amy DeWeerd; brother, Kedrick; parents-in-law, Scott and Julie Popelar; brother-in-law, Jared; grandmother, Judy Kort (Mimi) and grandparents, Norm and Karol DeWeerd. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends are mourning Kyle’s loss. He enriched their lives and is sorely missed.
