

Larry Joe Cook

Larry Joe Cook, 75, of Colorado Springs, was called home to be with the Lord on January 12. Larry was retired US Army and Civil Service. He served in the US Army 1953–1995, retired CWO4. He was honorably served in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, and was a competitive shooter with the 6th Army Rifle Team. Larry was born to William and Nellie Cook, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Larry married Barbara (McCracken) Cook on June 16, 1973, in Colorado Springs.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, but mostly spending time with his family and friends. Larry was a loyal and supportive husband and father and a devoted grandfather who was immensely proud of watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren learn and grow.
Larry is survived by his wife Barbara and his children Sandra (Cook) Cyre, Reed, MO; Kevin Cook, Colorado Springs; Anna Cook of Texas; Kathryn Reese, Plano, TX; Kasandra Peel, McKinney, TX; Karolyn Bryant, Colorado Springs; and his 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service is Monday, January 16, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Advantage Chapel of Memories at 829 S. Hancock Ave.
