I just learned of Larry's passing & was shocked.  We go back many years in the "old WWCG days" & have some fond basketball-playing memories.  My wife Cherie & I were good friends with him & Sue when we lived in Pueblo, CO.  The last time I saw him was at my retirement party in Colorado Springs - he was smiling & happy!!!  I will truly miss him!!!

Our prayers go out for the Jantzen family.  I wlll always remember Larry flying around the AC track (he was so good; he ran like he had wings on his feet) and the many hours spent in the AC pool practicing and playing water polo.  Larry was a wonderful fellow, a leader, and positive example.   God bless you with peace and strength as He leads you through this difficult time.

I didn't know Larry and Sue, but I went to AC with their older sister Kay.  I remember praying for Sue when she was ill and then Larry.  I know he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His whole family have been pillars in the church since the earliest days.

I extend sincere condolences to the Jantzen family. I knew Larry and Sue at Ambassador. I fondly remember Larry's great support and guidance on the track. He taught me the science of the 440 and then 400 meters. He was much better than I, but he always made me feel worthy of his concern.

I knew Sue in college and was so saddened by her death. Never knew Larry well, but knew they were well suited for each other.  To lose two such great people so young is such a loss for the world.  My prayers and thoughts are with their children and families.  Just another reason to want the kingdom to come!

I just returned from a week out of the country and I am so deeply saddened to hear of Larry's passing. We had a really nice visit at the Broadmoor just over a month ago. He kept me company all afternoon during the bridal fair. He was very upbeat and sure he was going to beat this. This really came as a shock. My love and prayers go out to Ben, Arielle, and sister I haven't met. Your dad was a dear friend and a wonderful man. He was so proud of his children. I'll always remember him when I sing his special songs.

I met Larry in 1976 and accompanied him and Sue on many of their dates in college, went to their wedding and visited their homes in Colorado and Kansas.  Larry was just always such a caring and giving person, full of fun.  My heart aches for his children and sisters and I pray God will give them comfort and encouragement at this difficult time.

Larry's older sister, Kay (Schreiber) and I were good friends at AC, and I thought of Larry as one of my little brothers, too.  Our paths parted, but I was happy to have reconnected with him by FB in recent years.  My prayers for comfort and peace are with the family.

I first met Larry (and his sister Loma) as fellow students at AC.  They were kind, solid and positive people, the kind that would give you the shirt off their backs.  I worked with Larry when I first started working in Accounting at WCG.  He was a pleasure to be around and made work fun!  That smiling foto of Larry on this memorial is so appropriate -- it is how I always remember him.  That, and how fast he ran around the track doing an 800m -- I never could keep up with him!  He will be greatly missed and I send my heartfelt condolences and prayers for Loma and entire Jantzen family.

I grew up with Sue in Ohio long before I met Larry at AC in Pasadena.  She was the girl I took to my high school Senior Prom.  I was the envy of all my classmates.

When she married Larry I thought it was perfect.  The sweetest girl married the nicest guy.

I loved CO too and tried twice to make it my home.  Sue would come visit me when I worked at the Arapahoe Target store.  But opportunities took me away and I never got a chance to see Larry again.  Now I never will.

I remember Mr. Jantzen (to me) as someone who was a great thinker and challenger of others' assumptions, but he was always kind and loving about it.  I enjoyed growing up with his two oldest kids and my prayers and thoughts go out to them now!  So sad to hear the news of his passing!

Larry is a good friend.  Always quick with a smile and a joke. Met in 1969 at SEP. He will be greatly missed. Just a reminder of how short life is and how much we wish when someone is gone that we had taken a little more time to call or get together more often.

Larry and his family have always been a blessing to everyone that they touched in life. I knew the Jantzen family in Wichita and they were pillars of the church there. Larry will be missed a lot.  I last spoke with him before the Feast last fall, he was so positive, so upbeat, funny, laughing.  I mentioned to him our current street name, "Moon Flower Court", and he laughed and laughed...explaining that the word 'moon' reminded him of Nate and the canoe trips at Orr!  I handed the phone to Nate and they talked and laughed for at least 45 min.  Just a special person.

My family and I learned to know Larry and Sue when they moved to the Sabetha, Kansas area in 1993.  Always thought a lot of Larry and Sue and always considered them good friends.  Our sympathy to their children--Aureil, Ben and Jennifer.  This is quite a shock since we did not know of his cancer until his death. Larry and Sue will always be remembered in this family as very loving and caring people.  Thanks for the memories.  Ken Georg and family.

Larry was a good friend and like an older brother.  He could always bring a smile to my face, and his smile is something I will remember. His memorial picture with his famous smile is fitting.  I got to know Larry over the years while living close by in Castle Rock, CO.  He sure loved his Broncos or "Broncs."  We enjoyed some chats over the simpler things in life like sports, but we also talked about our spiritual life and God's plan.  We are praying for the family and enjoyed spending time this evening sharing stories together and remembering a good friend, father, and husband. Larry will be missed greatly.

I've known Larry since I was a little kid and am grateful to have spent some fun time with him (and other friends) in Keystone, CO in October 2011.  Even though he jokingly complained I wasn't going to feed him beef for dinner one evening, he later had to admit the chicken and noodles were delicious.  Sending my condolences to all his family.

A true light has gone out of the world! I know the tears will blind my eyes as I try to speak my heart here.  Larry and I were the same age. Our families were close friends since way back at the beginnings of RCG. We grew up together although at times miles apart geographically. More recently we had shared some wonderful emails.  Larry was ALWAYS an amazing, sweet, kind, thoughtful, nice person!  I am sure he is now the brightest star in the night sky! I love you Larry!   Jann

What can one say about such a character? Best memories are not from Imperial High School, but from hunting (if one can call it that) rattlesnakes on the family ranch in Colorado. And the fun times we three couples spent at the feast (Larry and Sue, Mark and Susie and (ex-husband) Roger and I.Larry always had an opinion and it was so much fun to challenge his ideas. In the Dictionary under the word "Humble" it should read "Larry J. Jantzen".  Larry and I grew up as teenagers on the basketball court in WWCG and as College Classmates at AC.  I always found Larry to be friendly, outgoing and caring of others.  Our lives were much better because of having Larry a part of them.  Sympathies and love to his family.

Tears... I grew up with Sue and met Larry during my year in Pasadena and from their family visits to Toledo.  So sad to be saying goodbye... I send love and hugs to all his/their family and friends.

Our deepest sympathy to the family.  I wanted to say that I always appreciated Larry's upbeat personallity.  In this day and age so many people are negative.  Larry was always a upbeat kind of a guy.  He always had a kind word.  And he was always looking on the bright side of things.

Larry was a great freind and he will be deeply missed.  I'm sorry that we didn't get to spend more time together since his move to Colorado.  Joe and I are grateful for the visit we had last fall with him.
