

He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 8, 1944. He graduated from Wasson Highschool in Colorado Springs. He was married to Beverly Anne Bowen on November 13, 1971, to whom he has been married for nearly 50 years. Wayne had a 33-year career in firefighting. His service included volunteering for Knob Hill, El Paso County and Black Forest Fire Departments. He worked Professionally for Stratton Meadows, Colby Kansas and Woodmoor Monument Fire Departments and he was a part-time fire investigator for El Paso County Sherriff’s Department. He was a member of Ute Trail Muzzle Loaders and The Association of Christian Fire Fighters. He had a passion for firefighting, stockcar racing, Mountain Man black powder guns and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Evelyn Dooley and his brother Steven Dooley. He is survived by his son, Michael P. Dooley, his wife Beverly A. Dooley and two grandchildren Kelcee Dooley and Megan Dooley. He is also survived by his sister, Kristy Buckhorn and his brother Jim Dooley.
The funeral will take place on September 7, 2021 at Memorial Gardens on 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM followed by his funeral at 12:00 PM with a reception following the internment.
