Lauretta Pat Patricia Brooks

Lauretta “Pat” (Graves) Brooks passed away at 5:24 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Colonial Columns Nursing Home. Her son, daughter and son-in-law were present at the time of her passing into God’s realm.

Lauretta born on December 22, 1920, is the daughter of Dale Coldron Graves and Elsie Andre’ Graves of Beloit, Wisconsin and moved to Colorado Springs in 199. She married Lyle Bird Brooks on August 15, 1938. Lyle preceded her in death on April 15, 2001. Lauretta leaves behind her son, Robert Buck and Jane of Moscow, Russia; and daughter Robin (Dick) Waters of Colorado Springs. Other survivors include her granddaughter, Lauretta “Missy” Bare of Silt, Colorado; and her husband James; great-grandchildren, Sidney, Carly, and Zachary Bare of Silt, Colorado; a grandson, Quintin (Kris) Waters of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandson, Gordon (Kim) Waters and great-grandchildren, Kris and Jeremy Waters of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and a nephew, Harlan (Carol) Southworth reside in Beloit.

Lauretta was our mother, teacher, and guide. May the Lord keep her soul in repose.

Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 9:00 a.m., St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park, Colorado Springs. Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, January 14, 2011 at 11:30 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado
