Leatha Rose Thompson

Springs, Colorado on November 2, 2014. She was born on February 5, 1923 in Simla, Colorado to Orville R. and L. Murl

(Hall) Lamm. She joined a brother O. Dell Lamm and a sister Willa (Lamm) Harris, all of whom preceded her in death.

Leatha attended Simla School and Colorado Springs High School, later called Palmer High School. After graduating in

1941, she resided in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Santa Barbara, California for a number of years. She returned to

Colorado Springs where she became a telephone operator and supervisor for Mountain Bell. Upon retiring in 1984, she

and her companion David Betha traveled throughout the United States and Canada. She played the organ for her church for many years, Calvary United Methodist Church. She continued to serve her Lord and Savior after moving to Sunridge Retirement Center by leading Bible studies. Leatha was known for her faithful love for her family and friends, and the spoiling of her dogs. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and organ, bingo, cross-stitch, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by her companion David Betha; a niece, Connie Lu (Lamm) Nardini; two cousins Milton Lamm and Mary Lu (Lamm) Underwood; a second cousin she called her "daughter" Gail (Lamm) Taylor, a granddaughter Krystal

Taylor and a grandson Nicholas (Penny) Taylor and two great-grandchildren Kehan and Ashlyn Taylor. She also leaves

a host of second cousins and loving friends.

A memorial service will be Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Leatha's name at the Calvary United Methodist Women's Group - Environmental Education or the Colorado Springs Humane Society.
