Mountain View Funeral & Cremation

Leland Todd McGee, 85, of Peyton, Colorado passed away June 29, 2024. He was born September 3, 1938 to Leland Todd McGee and Bernadine McGee and had three siblings, Beverly Wahlen, Robert McGee, and Karen Eskew. He graduated from Lynwood High School and received an Occupational Title Master Machinist.

Leland was married to Turid H. Hanssen on October 22, 1965 and together they had four children, Miriam Jahn, David McGee, Michael McGee, and Marc McGee. He worked in industrial fabrication and machining and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, So Cal Time Association, So Cal Doughnut Derelicts, and the American Hot Rod Foundation. Leland had a passion for hot rods, fabricating, and chess.

Leland is survived by Turid Hanssen, 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Leland loved his family. He grieved silently over his failures. He mourned his divorce and the pain it caused the family. Leland loved animals, his dogs and his cats. He tried to help others regularly. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. He had a dry sense of humor. When frustrated, he did not always say the right things. He meant well and struggled to say “I Love You.” He was deeply proud of his children’s accomplishments. Leland’s last words were “Take one day at a time.”
