Lena Diane Irwin, nee Bell, passed into the arms of the Lord on the Eighth day of February in the year of our Lord of 2025 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lena, born in Granada Hills, California on September 19, 1976, moved from the shores of the Pacific Ocean to the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado Springs in 1985. As a graduate of Doherty High School and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a degree in Sociology, she upheld the ideal of education as a grand equalizer. Lena embraced the life of a homemaker and dedicated herself to her family. Her quick wit and brilliant smile brightened any room she entered, and her unbounded love redounded to all who knew her.
She enjoyed reading, football, and music, but she earned a reputation as a master of board and word games, puzzles, and a myriad of other brain teasers. And, at all times, it was the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit who guided her and captured her deepest attention. Lena left this earth far too early, and her grace and charm, her love and beauty, will be missed.
Lena was predeceased by her brother, George and her father, Cecil Royce Bell. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen Keith, nee Fischer; husband, Robert C. Irwin; children, Araia N. Allard and Ethan T. Irwin; granddaughter; sisters, Lisa, Lora, Lana, and Leea; and a dozen nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on February 28, 2025, at Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO at one o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in favor of Pikes Peak Hospice at pikespeakhospice.org.
