Linda was born to Margaret and Raymond Thurlow on September 19, 1947, in Garden City, Kansas. Linda graduated High School in Hill City, Kansas and it was there, while working at the local grocery store, that Linda met her beloved husband, Dale. They married on July 29, 1967 and, following Dale’s deployment to Vietnam and service with the Army, the couple chose Colorado Springs to be their home.
Linda was lovingly dedicated to her two children, Douglas and Kari and her grandchildren, Emma and Joey. She found joy in providing a comforting home for her family and celebrating holidays, birthdays and special events in ways that provided enduring memories.
Her relational skills and love for children led Linda to work for twenty-two years, until her retirement in 2011, as a paraprofessional at Skyway and Broadmoor Elementary Schools and later, at Pinon Valley Elementary, as the school secretary. She formed lasting and cherished friendships with teachers and staff and compassionately touched the lives of many students and their families over the years.
Linda had a creative and generous character and graciously demonstrated her love for others through sewing, cooking, floral arrangements, and crafts. She found joy in sharing time with her dear friends, gardening, hiking, and traveling. Linda will be remembered for her strong faith, sense of humor, and kindness to all. She will be deeply missed.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Raymond Thurlow and her brother, Roger Thurlow.
Her memory lives on with her husband Dale; son Doug Fullen and husband Greg Nockleby; daughter Kari and husband Joe Hatton, granddaughter Emma Hatton and grandson Joey Hatton of Colorado Springs; brother Larry and wife Patty Thurlow of Bogue, Kansas; sister Janet and husband Lee Wade of Stover, Missouri; brother Terry Thurlow of Russell, Kansas; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Linda’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, at Swan-Law Funeral Chapel in Colorado Springs. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
