

Lorene Bratcher, age 92, a resident of Colorado Springs and formerly of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend.
Elnora Lorene Martin was born on November 7, 1921 in Texhoma, Oklahoma to the late Claud and Emma (Watts) Martin. She grew up in Texas and attended high school in Shamrock, Texas. She met Roland Bratcher and they were married on August 27, 1938. They moved to Colorado in 1951, settling in Fort Collins in 1954. Lorene spent many years as a dedicated housewife and loving mother of two. She worked in the food service department of Poudre R-1 School District in Fort Collins for 13 years before her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Don Bratcher; her daughter, Betty (husband, Tom) Matkin; and her six grandchildren: Michael, Ted, Curt, Tracy, Rhonda, and Andy. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Roland, in 1990, and six brothers and sisters.
