

Louise passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was born and grew up in Denver, Colorado. Moving to Greeley, Colorado where she raised her first two children, Debbie and Vance. In 1962, she graduated from Colorado State College. She taught school first in Platteville and then moved to Littleton, Colorado where she taught kindergarten. Her third child Tim was born in Littleton. At this time, she opened Arapahoe Hills Pre-School and Kindergarten. She later moved to Hood River, Oregon and opened Barrett Country School. Louise taught many children, this was her passion.
She was an active member of Woodmen Valley Chapel. She loved quilting, sewing, crafting, watercolor painting, learning Russian, memorizing scripture and reading. She and Don have lived in Colorado Springs since May 1996.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Monohon; her brother, James Jackson; sister, Betty J. Beall; daughter, Debbie Lee; sons, Vance Green and Tim Turner; grandchildren, Cheryl Wells, Kristofer Lee, Stephanie Jensen and Stephen Turner. Grandson, Marc Alan Lee was the first Navy Seal killed in Iraq who preceded Louise in death on August 2, 2006. She also had eight great-grandchildren, Connor, Andrew, Sydney, Luke and Margo Wells, Adam Wilson, Aiden and Evan Lee.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., prior to the Service of Remembrance Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Stone Chapel, located at the Woodmen Valley Campus, 290 E. Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs. Reception immediately following service.
Graveside services will take place Monday, January 24, 2011 at 3:15 p.m. at Chapel Hills Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Avenue, Littleton, Colorado.
