

Lourene (Tiny), age 102, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Sept.10, 2024. She was born on a farm in Buckingham, Colorado to Walter & Minnie Houston. She married Dewey E. Miller on Jan. 25, 1941. They made their home in Colorado Springs and raised 3 children. Lourene retired from School District II where she worked in the cafeteria at Palmer High School. She was a long time member of the Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church. Lourene & Dewey were members of the Colorado Springs Polka club. She participated in making baby blankets for Fort Carson Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five siblings, son-in-law, Clinton Meek and 2 great-granddaughters, Brianna Drake, and Amaya Weaver.
She is survived by her children: Katherine Apland (Paul) of Peyton, CO; Betty Meek (Clinton) of Peyton; and Gene Miller (Marilyn) of Hazel Green, AL.
6 Grandchildren: Brenda Apland, Diane Drake, Christine Meek (Phillip), Jennifer Dillie (Clint), Amy Jackson (Monte), and Teri Sharp (Darin).
12 Great-Grandchildren: Samantha Davis (Tim), Kaitlyn Ragsdale (Brandon), Danielle Drake (Dylan), Alisha Weaver (Jarred), Dallas Dillie, Christian & Jordan Garcia, Alyson Justice (Tanner), Collin Jackson (Emily), Ryan Jackson (Bri), Megan Nichols (Cole), and Austin Sharp.
13 Great-Great-Grandchildren: Lexie, Kenny, Charlotte, Timothy, Ava, Owen, McKenzie, Leland, Kash, Madelyn, Macie, Bradley, and Freya.
Services for Lourene will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Swan-Law, 501 Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 with Pastor Matthew Capone, and Gene Miller officiating. Times will be as follows:
Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m.; Funeral Service following at 11:00. Burial immediately following at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910
Pallbearers: Paul Apland, Clint Dillie, Phillip Garcia, Tim Parlett, Jarred Weaver, and Brandon Ragsdale.
