Lucile "Margaret" McRae, 90 years old, of Flower Mound, Texas and Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on August 31, 2024. She was born on November 9, 1933 to Everett and Ruth Ensor in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, moving to the Dallas area in the 1950's. Margaret married Clarence F. McRae on November 9, 1963, together they had two children, Paula Elizabeth and Edwin Franklin. She worked as a crosswalk guard, school athletic events and school food service. Margaret had a passion for her school kids, her children, her work with the crosswalk guard and the Irving ISD in Texas.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Paula (Keith) Applegate and son, Ed (Ellen) McRae; grandchildren, Kari Applegate, Codey Applegate, and Casey Applegate; and great grandchildren, Rhett and Lana Applegate.
A celebration of life will take place late fall in the Dallas area. Mom enjoyed the best of both worlds, Colorado in the spring/summer with her son's family and Texas in the fall/winter with her daughter's family. Let's remember Margaret's big wave and smile at the crosswalk.
