

Lynne Kimie Hashimoto-Campbell, aged 65, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on December 15, 2024. Born in Astoria, New York in 1959, Lynne spent her childhood and young adult life in Waipahu, Hawaii, and graduated from Waipahu High School. She attended the University of Hawaii and earned her bachelor’s degree in human development. After graduating she moved to Los Angeles, California, for work. She met and later married James Campbell. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a loving and supportive Mom to Joseph and Jameson. Lynne dedicated her professional career to aiding others as an occupational rehabilitation counselor. While working for the California Department of Rehabilitation (CA DOR), Lynne went on to earn her master’s in science in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University. After retiring from the CA DOR in 2013, she relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to work for the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) (2013-2022) where she assisted veterans through counseling and obtaining services for Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment.
Described as kind, loving, and outgoing, Lynne strived to uplift those around her. Lynne loved playing bingo, mahjong, dominoes, and various games like Mexican Train, activities that reflected her sociable and engaging nature. She often enjoyed these at her favorite venue, Carefree Bingo, which served as a place of joy and community for her. Lynne loved her crafts and enjoyed making leis, baby shower cakes, party favors, and making wreathes.
Lynne was known for her warmth, generosity, and compassion for others. Her life and legacy are celebrated by all who knew her, as she deeply touched many lives through her work, her passions, and her enduring kindness. In her later years even through the many health challenges she faced, she made sure to live her life to the fullest.
Lynne leaves behind a loving family: her husband, James Campbell; sons, Joseph (Melissa) Campbell and Jameson (Erin) Campbell; siblings, Melvin “Sonny” Hashimoto Jr., (Fraternal twin), Joni Hashimoto, Eric Hashimoto, and Sharilyn (Chris Podlesnik) Hashimoto. She is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends. Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Betty Hashimoto, and her brother, Marc.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at Swan-Law Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her memory to a charity of your choice.
