

Margit was born March 26, 1936 in Sweden, and was sent to Denver, Colorado in 1948 to be with her US relatives. On completion of her basic education, she entered a banking career. Growing up in Denver and moving to Colorado Springs, she loved visits to many State areas and her many cruises with Roy and family. Moving to Colorado Springs, continuing her banking career. In 1988 she met Roy an officer in the RCAF at NORAD HQs and married in 1992. Family and friends were always extremely important in her life. She enjoyed the holidays and always made them a time to remember. The marriage was great, full of adventures with much travel. Margit leaves behind her devoted husband of 40 years Roy Thompson and many loving family members, Kelly and Ian in Nova Scotia, Jeannine and Jeff in Denver, Morgan in Houston, Gary and Jessica in Colorado Springs, David and Stacey in Nova Scotia, grandchildren Emme, Ashley, Amanda, and the many friends that were an important part of her life. She was active in community affairs and all aspects of the AMERICAN way.
A Funeral will follow on Saturday 7th January 2023 at 11 a.m. at The Holy Cross Lutheran Church, corner of Constitution and Murray, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Margit will be laid to rest at the Columbarium at the Holy Cross Church.
