Biography

Marjorie Dean DeBree Delger was born on August 17,1932 to John and Mildred DeBree in Holland, Michigan. She graduated from Holland High School in 1950. While there she enjoyed being a Dutch dancer in the Tulip Time Parade for three years. Marjorie graduated from the Bronson Methodist School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, Michigan on August 14, 1953. She married John J. Delger, on December 27,1952. After graduating she lived in Fairbanks, Alaska where John was stationed with the U.S. Army. John & Marjorie raised three children in Parchment, Michigan; Darcy (Steve) Palmer, Holly (Tim) Kemp and David (Kim) Delger. Marjorie had a deep faith in Jesus and with John was a long time member of Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. From 1978 - 1982 John & Marjorie worked at a school for troubled American teens in the Dominican Republic. Marjorie was the school nurse. She loved trips to the ocean and the beautiful beaches there. Later, they retired to Lake Worth, Florida where she continued to enjoy the ocean. Marjorie most recently lived at the Hatler May Village in Colorado Springs, Colorado with her husband, John. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Marjorie passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family after a short illness.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Delger, her, brother, Jack David DeBree of Jacksonville, Florida, three children and their spouses, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
