Mark Lewis Dunn

Mark Lewis Dunn, 65, of Colorado Springs passed away after a brief battle with cancer on April 3, 2021. He was born in Urbana, Illinois on September 20, 1955 to James Lewis Dunn Jr. and Maxine Lorraine Dunn. Mark graduated from Urbana High School in 1974. He met the love of his life, Valerie Dunn, whom he married in 1981. Mark and Valerie were married for 40 years. Together, they had two children, James Curtis Dunn (Kimberly), and Lori Anne Gerety (Ryan). In 1994, they moved to Colorado Springs where Mark became a successful custom home builder as the owner of the company he once worked for. Mark found great joy in spending his free time with the sun on his back in his garden. He was an avid landscaper who took great pride in his home. He was a selfless man, full of integrity, who went out of his way to serve his family and community. Together, Mark and Valerie shared a beautiful life. He is survived by his wife, two children, two brothers, Jim Dunn (Bobbi) and Charlie Dunn (Evelyn), one sister, Susan Brown (Greg), and five grandchildren, Nathan, Caitlyn, Paige, James, and Logan. Memorials can be made to either: to support research of the cancer that took his life. in honor of Mark’s grandson who was treated there in 2016 after a tragic accident. in honor of Mark’s dog Blackjack.
