

Martha E. McQueen, 99, passed away on August 30, 2010 in Simla, Colorado. She was born November 27, 1910 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to William A. and Sarah E. (Carson) Skinner. She was one of nine children and is the last survivor. There were two sets of twins and she was one of the twins.
Martha was married to Harry W. McQueen in 1934. He preceded her in death in 2001. They had six children. Her son Paul McQueen also preceded her in death.
She had many enjoyments in life. She loved to sew, crochet, make beautiful quilts for her family, and work in the garden. She was a wonderful Samaritan who got joy from helping others. Most of all she loved caring for and spending time with her grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her sons, Gilbert, Clifford (Joyce), Donald and Frank McQueen, her daughter, Hazel (Frank) Clay, 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at the Calhan Methodist Church, 581 Denver Street, Calhan followed by burial in the Calhan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s memory to the Good Samaritan Society, 320 Pueblo Avenue, P.O. Box 38, Simla, Colorado 80835.
