Mary Joan Bruce

Mary “Joan” Bruce, age 83, passed away on December 19, 2020, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Joan lived the last several years at Broadmoor Court where she enjoyed reading, bingo, puzzles, and socializing. The love, compassion, and dignity that the staff from Broadmoor Court and Suncrest Hospice provided to Joan and her family was wonderful.

Joan was born in Leadville, Colorado on April 10, 1937 to Louis and Loretta Hren, who predeceased her. Joan was also proceeded in death by her former husband James Bruce and older brother Louis Hren. She is survived by her sons Neil and Jim; grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew, Samantha, and Hayden; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Connor, Evan, and Reid.

Joan loved spending time with her family, Elvis, firecrackers, fishing, poker and the Broncos. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she has touched.

A mass will be said in her name at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Leadville, Colorado. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
