

She was preceded in death by love of her life , her husband James O. Robinson, Sr in 1948 and husband Franklin F. Sanders in 2008. Two daughters Mary Theresa Cothrun in 2010 and Delilia Darlene Halstead in 2023. Her parents Clarence R. Fay Sr. in 1970 and Florence W. Fay in 2003. Sisters Margaret Cormack, Betty Olivarez, and brother Clarence R. Fay Jr. (Bud).
She is survived by a son James O. Robinson, Jr (Carol), a sister Charlotte Randolph, grand children:
Stacey McMullen (Don), Shannon Hern, Jodi Robinson, Diana Miller (James), Trevor Robinson (Johneen), Seth Cothrun (Harper), Jacinda Cothrun, and Bryan Cothrun. She also has numerous nieces and nephews who survive her.
Mary Lee grew up in Cripple Creek, Colorado and spent most of her adult years there. She lived a short time in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Cortez, Colorado. She moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2003.
Mary Lee attended 2 years of college as well as beauty school and a school of electrolysis. She also completed a course in autobody repair.
Mary Lee and Franklin Sanders ran the Blue Front Grocery in Cripple Creek, Colorado for many years,then she worked as a flag woman on the Colorado highways, had her own electrologist business and when casinos came to Cripple Creek she worked as a shift supervisor.
Mary Lee took pride in being "Wanda Witch" every halloween for her grandchildren and many other children related to or known to her. The children would receive a halloween card signed by "Wanda Witch" with a $2.00 bill enclosed. Her identity was not known to most of the children.
Mary Lee was a great historian for the Cripple Creek District and she shared her knowledge freely with others.
Mary Lee was a well known "Great Cook" to her family and friends....a fact she denied.
Mary Lee could be found watching Martha Stewart and reading "Hints by Heloise" in the newspaper almost daily. She would pass along what she learned from them to others.
Mary Lee will be missed by all that knew her including her special friend Dougie (a small dachshund mix dog). Dougie frequently would visit Mary Lee and had full rights in her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary Lee this coming summer in Cripple Creek, Colorado. The place and time to be announced later.
