Not everyone is blessed by the gift of a beautiful baby sister when they are a Junior in High School – I was.  It was common to see Melissa hoisted atop my shoulders.  One time was particularly memorable as I heard her say ‘Oops!'.  Melissa's chewing gum had lodged itself in the back of my hair.  Mom tried all the remedies to remove it from my hair: olive oil, butter, peanut butter, ice,… ultimately only one item proved effective – scissors – the hair grew back.
Melissa was a frequent spectator at her brothers' high school ice hockey games.  Mom and Dad secured her safely behind the Plexiglas.  This gave her the ‘front row' view of the games – best seat in the house.
One year I was the Chairman of the Homecoming parade for the University of Colorado.  I made sure Melissa had a seat on a float as it made the tour down Broadway and around the Boulder, CO campus.
I saw her less once I moved to Arizona.  I did call frequently and always told her she was my favorite sister.  She reminded me she was my only sister.  Which, of course, I told her was irrelevant.  Melissa will always be my favorite sister.

Carl and Alline:  We are so very sorry to learn of your loss of Melissa.  You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Remember melissa from church when we were younger. She was always happy. She will b missed!

Melissa was a good friend of mine nearly twenty years ago in High School. We used to pal around and have sleepovers, sing in the choirs and act in the theater productions at Wasson High School.  Although we had just recently gotten back in touch through Facebook, she will still be missed. Prayers are sent to her family and her son.

We have known you for ever Melissa. Your have now reached your resting place you are at peace in Jesus loving arms How wonderful that must be. We will be praying for strength  and comfort for the rest of the family.

I have a wonderful memory of us on a girl scout camping trip- it was your turn to fetch the water, and you came back around the trees with an incredibly good looking shirtless guy carrying the water for you. The grin on your face was priceless. You were a beautiful soul.

We were just starting to build a friendship and in the brief time I knew you you made a huge impact on my life. You were so kind and full of love and a wonderful mother. I will miss you and feel blessed for the few months I got to call you friend. I know your in a better place with the Lord and I am happy for you.

Through our 'tender' years, you were always so full of love and completely selfless.  From Hollywood (with Skipper) to NYC, the memories run wide.  May you rest in peace.  See you again.

Melissa you will always be our little Missy. You fought a fight you could not win, but won the victory within Heaven's Inn. God is faithful and he will see all of us through this. You were always and will be forever loved!
