Merilee was born June 23, 1972 in Raleigh, North Carolina to parents Mert & Jean Forsyth. She was the first of 3 children and was later joined by brothers Matthew and Timothy. Growing up Merilee lived all over the world as an Air Force brat. From North Carolina, she moved to Mt Home, Idaho followed by stays on the island of Guam, North Bay Ontario, Canada, Ft Collins, Colorado, Satellite Beach, Florida, Boulder, Colorado, Mildenhall, England, and finally to O’Fallon, IL where she graduated from high school in 1990.
After high school she managed a silk plant store in St Louis for her mother followed by time as a medical billing specialist at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri. Her son Tyler was born in 1993 and she then moved back to Colorado living in Colorado Springs. There she worked as an office manager for Rocky Mountain Cancer Center and later at Penrose Hospital. She then became certified as a medical coder and worked for GI of the Rockies until her passing.
Merilee was an avid Broncos fan and loved to shop with both her mother and many close friends. She also loved to travel and see wonderful places in both the United States and abroad and continued to travel despite an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.
Merilee is survived by her parents, Mert & Jean Forsyth; her brothers Tim and Matt, and Matt’s family, Nicole, Gabe, and Alex all of Colorado Springs as well as her two aunts, several cousins and many close and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her son Tyler, her paternal and maternal grandparents, and her uncle Douglas Forsyth.
