be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday May 27,2018 at the young age of
67.
Metanasa finished nursing school in 1969, starting her medical career
working in hospitals such as John Hopkins and UCLA Medical Center, from
Maternity Ward to ER. She later studied Alternative Medicine incorporating
it with Traditional Medicine to help educate individuals on how to stay
healthy; she referred to herself as 'Minister of Health, LVN'. She was
writing a book, putting the puzzle pieces together, of her journey through it
all.
Metanasa founded the Join Our Youth (JOY) Foundation, encouraging
youth on how to be healthy, creative, fit, happy, loved, successful,
responsible, and empowered with faith to fulfill their dreams. She loved to
meet complete strangers and share Jesus Christ with them. She
contributed her God given gifts to organizations such as the Chamber of
Commerce, the NAACP, The Association of Black Psychologists, Prison
Fellowship Ministries, EMB Sickle Cell Association, among other Civic Organizations.
Metanasa had a passion for singing; oh what a heavenly voice. She performed at A Tribute to Billie Holliday, sang Opera at a venue in Denver, sang with the
Colorado Springs Chorale, and worshipped our Lord in Gospel song at
numerous churches.
She was preceded in death by her father Sylvester, mother Mattie Olean,
and sister Leander. She is survived by husband Mario Morales, Sisters
Sylvia (Big Sis) Anderson of Joppa, MD. and India Holloway of Culver City,
CA. Brothers Sylvester (Bussy) Myers of Baltimore, MD. and Thomas
(Greg) Myers of Orlando, FL. and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and
extended family and dear friends, whom she loved dearly.
