Michael Knoll was a talented creative person. He was happiest near the sound of water, along a stream, in a boat on the ocean, or strolling along the beach. He loved to fish. He loved being outside, especially in natural environments. He loved good food and was an excellent cook.
Michael was an architect. He earned an undergraduate degree from CU Boulder in Environmental Design, then went on to Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago to earn a master's degree in architecture. He worked for several years in Chicago and then moved to Colorado and worked in the Denver area. Michael loved to observe and to wrestle with the forms, lines, and spaces within and around built structures. From an early age, he loved to draw and paint.
Michael is survived by his brother Gabe Knoll, his nephew Leo Knoll, his sister-in-law Caitlin Monaghan, his Mother Diane Sparks, his Father David Knoll, and his uncle Greg Sparks, his aunt Pam Sparks, and cousins Jeff and Erika Sparks. Those of us who are left behind will remember fondly the times we spent with Michael. He was a truly good human being, and we will all miss him.
