Mike was born in Denver, Colorado to Richard and Sherri Whitcomb on March 30, 1981. He attended school in Falcon from kindergarten to twelfth grade. He grew up on a ranch in Falcon and loved the adventures he found there.
Mike was a survivor! He survived 2 older brothers that constantly put his abilities to the test. The year he turned 19 was a very challenging year. He survived an accident at work that should have taken his arm, a car accident that could have taken his life. He was a cancer survivor!
Mike enjoyed many activities; which included tormenting his little sister (which he loved doing), but his favorite pastime was spending time with his children. He loved being a dad, and watching his children grow. He enjoyed working with his hands and tinkering with cars and electronics. He liked to take things apart and put them back together. Mike really liked playing practical jokes on his family, Mike loved making people laugh. He enjoyed living in Florida and being close to the beach, he loved taking his family to the ocean.
Mike worked at iHop for many years, and his children loved eating pancakes and drinking all the chocolate milk. Mike loved to cook, and he was very good at it. He also enjoyed being a tow truck driver. He met new people every day and it gave him the opportunity to help someone in need. He loved cars and enjoyed telling his family the stories of the different kinds of cars he got to tow, the Subaru’s were the ones most often mentioned. He loved taking his kids with him for a ride along, and teaching his children to drive the big tow trucks, of course in empty parking lots.
Mike was a kind and generous person. He will be missed by many.
Mike is survived by his wife Brittany of eight years, his children Michael, Gabriel, Alyvia, Brayden, Emmalee and Lucas. His parents Richard and Sherri Whitcomb. Siblings Richard (Jessica), Cris (Patti) and Stacy Whitcomb. He leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends to cherish his memory.
Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents William and Dorothy Whitcomb and George and Erma Phillips, his uncle Bill Phillips and his daughter Alyia and ex-wife Jamie Lynne Parker.
