On July 6, 2017, Milton J. Koets of Colorado Springs, Colorado, beloved husband of Viola (Sellers) Koets, passed away at the age of 89 after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, his sons Steven Koets (Ann) and David Koets (Rashelle), his grandchildren Christine Koets and Tyler Koets, his sisters Adalyn Hildebrand and Dolores Knoll (Don), his son-in-law Tony San Miguel and many nieces and nephews. Milton is preceded in death by his daughter Cindy San Miguel, his brother Donald Koets and his parents Adriana and Leonard Koets.
Born on March 12, 1928, in Denver, Colorado, Milt spent substantially his entire life in Colorado other than the years spent in the service of his country during the Korean War. He spent the majority of his professional career with Lewan & Associates, Inc.
Milt married Viola Sellers on June 20, 1953, and they were happily married for 64 years. His greatest joy was his time spent with his family. Milt’s spiritual life was important to him and he was a faithful member of the congregation of First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if you would make a donation in his name to First Presbyterian Church (219 E. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903), Springs Rescue Mission (5 W. Las Vegas Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903) or Young Life-Colorado Springs (420 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903).
