He is now on eternal patrol. His wife of 68 years and his daughter were by his side as his son moved mountains by hiking out of the Grand Canyon to join them.
Robie was born in Spokane, Washington to Dean and Libby Robinson on October 6, 1935. He joined the Navy in 1953 at 17 years old and married the love of his life, Margaret (Marge) on September 22, 1956.
The following legacy information he wrote himself and wanted it shared here:
• My proudest family moments: marrying my wife and having children (daughter Debbie and son Robie).
• My proudest career accomplishments: graduating Navy nuclear power school after being out of school 8 years, qualifying on A1W, SSW, 55W and S5G nuclear plants, making Master Chief Petty Officer E-9, and Presidential Unit Citation when I served on the U.S.S. Halibut.
• Other things: served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, worked 16 years at Westinghouse as a Principal Engineer, retired at age 55 as I achieved goals in both professions.
• Hobbies: hunting, camping, bowling, golfing, poker and spending time with family.
Robie is survived by his wife Marge Robinson, Daughter Debbie Morrill, Son Rob Robinson, Brother Tom Robinson, Grandson Neil Macpherson, and Nieces Joyce Robinson Winslow and Julie Robinson Evans.
Robie had an amazing life, received many medals and honors for his service, was a proud nuclear submarine veteran that we will celebrate with full military honors on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 2:00-3:00pm at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 10545 Drennan Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
