

Rudy was born on June 13, 1959 in Colorado Springs, CO to Walter and Faye (Suazo) Abila. Rudy was the fourth of six children. Growing up he learned how to cook from his mama and work hard from his father. Rudy graduated from Wasson High School in 1977.
Rudy had his first daughter Brenda in 1985. During his late twenties he met Diana F. Raygoza in October of 1987 they were married a short time later, on December 18, 1987. He became step-father to Christina and then together had two daughters Delilah and Felicia, and a son Lorenzo.
Rudy worked as a construction worker, assembly man at Western Forge, dog trainer and most people knew him as a mechanic. He loved to ride his bike, running, going fishing to catch crappie and walleye, playing chess with his family, watching his western shows, blasting his oldies from his Monte Carlo while cruising around Prospect Lake, going to car shows, lighting up the grill and making food for whoever came over.
Rudy was preceded in death by his brothers Albert, Walter Jr., Delfino, and Michael and parents Walter and Faye Abila. Rudy is survived by his brother Ronnie (D’Ann) Abila and nephews.
He leaves behind his wife of 36 years Diana (Raygoza) Abila, children Brenda (Chulo) Vigil, Christina Aguilar, Delilah (Brett) Herndon, Felicia Adams, and Lorenzo Abila. Grandchildren: Britanya, Zenaea, and Ivanna Ontiveros- Vigil, Elena and Brianna Raygoza, Gabrielle, Marissa, and Damien Aguilar, Kieran, Javan, and Liam Herndon, LeToya and Zivon Abila, Tyvonious Adams.
Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 720 Crestline Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80916 on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2 pm.
