Molly grew up in North Carolina, working in the fields of the family farm. She graduated from Faison High School in 1951. Molly married the love of her life, Conrad Lamar Burch Sr., while on Christmas break during her senior high school year, and they spent 72 wonderful years together. They traveled the world during Conrad’s service in the U.S. Army.
Molly worked various jobs on different military bases where they were stationed. At their final duty station in Colorado Springs, Molly worked at Aircraft Mechanics Inc., where she built helicopter seats. She earned her Cosmetologist license and worked many years at The Hen House Beauty Salon just two blocks from her home. Additionally, Molly provided loving daycare services for family and friends with children of all ages.
Molly loved to have fun. She enjoyed family gatherings for any occasion. Playing games, singing, and dancing were among her favorite activities. Molly volunteered at church and sang in the choir. She loved visiting with friends, sitting on the porch with her husband, and gambling in Cripple Creek with anyone who would join her. Sewing and crafts were her hobbies. She enjoyed camping trips to Conrad’s favorite fishing locations in their motorhome. Molly was always ready to go on any kind of adventure.
After a courageous thirteen-year-long battle with Alzheimer's Disease, Molly passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by loved ones, early Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 89. Molly was under the incredible care of her son, Eric, following her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, with support from her daughter, Heidi, and granddaughter, Kayla. Not only is the entire family grateful for their loving care, but also for the professional care that Molly received from the many angels at Colorado Palliative & Hospice Care of Colorado Springs (two years) and Amada Senior Care (five years).
Molly is survived by her husband, Conrad, as well as her five sons, Lamar (Polly) Burch, Richie (Theresa) Burch, Gary (Janet) Burch, Johnny (Martha) Burch, and Eric Burch, all of Colorado; her two daughters, Tammy Burch of North Carolina and Heidi (Ken) Coburn of Colorado; her daughter-in-law, Kristie Marie Mahler (Timothy) of Colorado; 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; her half-brother, Larry (Carol) Stancil, of North Carolina; her loyal therapy dog, Petey, and countless honorary family members.
