

Mona In Pang Thomas, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep December 24, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born in 1931, to Edward L. and Victoria Wong (Harrison).
Mona was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was one of Aloha Airlines first flight attendants. She then went back to school to earn her cosmetologist license, a field that she worked in for 20 years. Mona contributed multiple hours and effort in volunteering for the California schools system. Her most significant professional achievement was her time and effort she spent in the creation and adaption of California’s first Head Start Program.
After traveling and living in multiple overseas locations, Mona settled in Colorado Springs and resided at the Belcaro Senior Apartments. She made many friends while passing on her Hawaiian and Chinese culture and practices to apartment residents who embraced these learning opportunities. Mona took great pride in the adaption of two ongoing events at the Belcaro; 1) The annual Chinese New Year celebration and the weekly Chinese game of Mahjongg.
Mona leaves behind to cherish her memory six children, Theawana Pecqueur (Warwick), Colorado Springs, CO; Ravine Tai Su (deceased); Laguitta Hooper (Warwick) Troutdale, OR; R. Jay Warwick Monument, CO; Edward Aikue Warwick, Methow, WA; and V. Mahealani Volz (Warwick) Indianapolis IN. Mona had 13 grandchildren and 17 great grand children.
A private family memorial will be conducted 29 Dec 17.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the National Cancer Association.
