Myrna came to the United States in 1983. Myrna worked for the Army DFMWR for almost 30 years with her most notable accomplishment in 1986 when she received the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher; recognizing her efforts in significantly improving the Field Artillery community during her husband’s service in the U.S. Army. She enjoyed her work at the Fort Carson Bowling Center for the past 20+ years where friends and customers became part of her family. Myrna enjoyed her Cripple Creek dates with her husband and spending her time with her girls and her grandchildren. She always opened her home and her cooking to everyone and would never let you leave on an empty stomach.
Myrna married her soulmate, devoted husband, Charles M. Marquez, on September 3, 1985, and dedicated her life to her family. In addition to her husband, Myrna leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving children, Maria (Maurino) Casanova, Michelle (Nick) Acfalle, Mercedes (Chris) Kosa, Marianne (Keith) Roath and Christine Marquez; precious grandchildren, Noel, Lydia, Maurino, Eduardo, Kris, Keilani, Maureen, Elijah and Emilio; as well as a host of blended family and friends.
