Nancy Anne Butler, a 33-year resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on, Friday, May 7, 2021. Born on February 25, 1967 in the Philippines she moved to the United States when she was 2 years old. She was the daughter of Charles Brady and the late Judith Brady.
Nancy was born in the Philippines, where her father was serving as a doctor in the Air Force. When she was 2 her family moved back to Mankato, Minnesota where she was raised as a passionate and lifelong Viking’s fan. As a young woman she moved to Colorado Springs. Shortly after moving to Colorado, she began working at Frankie’s Bar and Grill, where she was a much-loved and valued employee for 26 years. Nancy had many cherished memories at Frankie’s and meet many of her lifelong friends and colleagues . She touched many people’s hearts by showing her kindness and compassion and gave people the opportunity to have someone to talk to.
While working at Frankie’s she met her husband of 20 years. Nancy was a loving and caring person to all people and animals. This love led her to become an organ donor knowing she could save lives, and 4 people were blessed in this process. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, avid reader, and adored her plants and flowers. Her family has many cherished memories of her seeking quiet moments in the backyard of their new home to be alone with her thoughts, finding strength in solitude.
Nancy is survived by her husband Keith Butler, children Alexis Rutjes, Johnathan Rutjes, and Nicole Butler; her sisters Amy Peterson and Sally Brady; her father Charles Brady and his wife Alex Brady; her granddaughter Harper and grandson Tristan.
There will be a private memorial service on May 14, 2021. There will be a Celebration of Life for Nancy at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Donor Alliance.
