

Nancy was married to Parker Hession in 1946. Tragically, he was killed in an automobile accident the following year. She married Charles James Freeman in 1951 and moved from Oklahoma City to Colorado Springs. Charlie worked in the theatre business until his death in 1969.
Nancy was raised in Mason City and worked in radio after attending junior college. Upon moving to Colorado Springs, she worked as secretary for the First Christian Church for many years and eventually became a realtor at Springs Realty for twenty years before retiring. She was an elder in the Christian church and very active in the community including Girls Scouts, Broadmoor Skating Club, Old Car Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Village at Skyline Community Cares Fund.
Nancy had a strong faith and commitment to serving others, especially the elderly. She was a wonderful mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother and friend. She was dearly loved and will live in our hearts forever.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husbands, Parker Hession and Charles Freeman, her parents, Phyllis and Alfred Halsor, and her brother, Richard Halsor. She is survived by her daughter, Candace Payne, son-in-law, H.J. Payne; three grandsons: James Payne and wife, Callie; Matthew Payne and wife, Lauren; Mark Payne and wife, Melanie; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Tyler Payne; and her sister, Carol Anderson.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 22 , from 5-7 pm. at Swan-Law Mortuary. Her funeral service will be held at First Christian Church in Colorado Springs at 3:00 pm on Saturday, Jan. 23. Private Family Burial at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nancy Freeman Youth Fund at the First Christian Church, Hospice of Longmont, CO. or the charity of your choice.
