Nick Ehlenbach filled me up with lessons, with laughter and with love. He often asked me, "You've never met anyone like me, have you Kathy Walker?" With all of the love I can summon from my broken heart, the answer is: "No, Nick Ehlenbach, I've never met anyone like you before and I am so full of gratitude that I did."

Nick, you were a great person. I can’t believe you are not with us now. I have a memory stuck in my head of you from our senior year. We had to do some kind of reasearch paper that had to be typ written. Evidently we both waited until the last moment. My mother had a typewriter so we figured we could pull an all night brain storm at my house and have it done before school started in the morning. Nick suggested we drink coffee, which was the first time I had ever drank coffee . We got the papers done and headed to school a while later. Not a crazy story, I just remember this about Nick for some reason, probably because I never stayed up all night and drank coffee to do homework until then.
RIP my old buddy.

Dear Family, Friends and Nick,
My heart is so heavy as I too loved him dearly. Nick was a proud member of Southern Local High School class of 1971, and we are a tight-knit bunch! Nick and I were working on a project together and his beautiful mind and heart will be sorely missed as well as his gregarious personality, hardy laugh, his mischievous antics and his contagious smile. It is with tears catching in my throat to say, God Speed my dear friend, keep the Light shinning...until we meet again. Love and Peace, Janet

We knew Nick for the past few years through our dear friend Kathy. He brought her so much happiness. Nick had a great sense of humor, loved being in the great outdoors, and was so proud of his family. He was a great host when you came to visit. We enjoyed his inviting smile and laugh. He will be missed.

So sad to hear of Nick’s passing. We met Nick a few years ago when he bought up in Central City. He was a very gregarious man and so very nice. I will miss his hugs! Prayers to all of your families.

I didn't know him well, but fortunate to have a chance to talk with him on the phone several times. I know he brought love and laughter to those who spent time with him, even if it was just for a few moments. He was a gentleman, gregarious, curious and smart. He was the guy who knew how to help. He did that for me...
Thank you Mr. Nick!
Rest in Peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nick over a year ago. He was a good man, father and grandfather. Thank you for your service to your country. You will be missed.

Very sad to hear of Nick's passing. I have a number of fond memories, he was my manager several years ago, very energetic and good to work for, as well as a poker buddy outside work.
My sincerest condolences to his family and friends for their loss.

Heartbroken; we were blessed to have Nick and Kathy spend the day and evening with us during their recent trip to Florida. What a great time from a Christmas lighting ceremony and chatting in the sun with a cigar and beverage. A great American. You will be missed, my friend.
