

Juanita (Nita) Annette Bowling, mother, grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on June 25, 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nita was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 10, 1936, the second eldest of a family of six of Thelma and John Abel. Nita spent of her life in Colorado and Colorado Springs.
Nita graduated from Saint Mary’s high school in 1954 when she married Clayton Cheever and gave birth to five children. A devout mother Nita lived a very complete life raising her children, worked at Westland Theatres in Colorado Springs and briefly owned a Diet Center in Colorado Springs.
Nita was generous, loving and kind to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband Bo and stepson Kenneth (Kenny) and two brothers Don and John (Jay). Family, friends and her dogs were center to Nita’s life and an avid Bronco’s fan. She maintained closeness to her high school classmates by assisting in planning and coordinating class reunions and joining friends for monthly luncheons at the Broadmoor.
Nita is survived and leaves behind five children, Rick Cheever, Terri Allison, Gari Cheever, Emerson Ann Cheever-Wright and Cindi Cheever; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens at 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, 80910 on Sunday, July 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow. A memorial service will be held at Devine Redeemer Church located at 971 North Logan Avenue on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. followed by internment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Mary’s High Church and High School and the American Cancer Society, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
