Norina, age 95 of Colorado Springs, passed away at home on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Norina was born to Giovanni and Angela Lucchetta on October 25, 1925 in Pieve di Soligo, Italy. Becoming a war bride in 1945, she married Genaro Alcala, a U.S. Army soldier prior to accompanying him to the U.S. Following his career, they lived in various countries including the Philippines, Japan, and Germany. Sadly, Genaro passed away in 1975.
Norina trained in Italy and France becoming a highly talented clothing designer. She opened Noreen’s Creations on Platte Avenue, moving to Colorado Avenue and later to Union Blvd. She retired in 1986.
In 1985, she married Louis Pinello. They traveled the states by car with Norina behind the wheel. Life was full of fun and laughter until his passing in 1987.
Norina always planned to live to be 100, so 95 was pretty darn close. We will forever be grateful for her love and lessons.
She is survived by her daughters: Katherine Bomersheim of Newport News, VA; Rebecca (Tom Bryan) Bradeen of Miami, FL; and Sandra (Don) Miller of Colorado Springs; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and Teddy Bear, her kitty. Her many dogs that have gone before, are surely at her side too.
Services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Visitation 10:00 a.m., Rosary 11:00 a.m. at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. Private burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice (https://pikespeakhospice.org/donate-today/), or Paw Pals Assistance Dogs (www.pawpalsassistancedogs.org).
