Olivia Penelope Gahard, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023, at the age of 86 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on August 8, 1937, in Chicago, IL, Penny was the cherished daughter of Max and Marian Novosel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane Samolja.
Penny was a loving mother to her son Jerry Gahard and his wife Shawn. She was also a proud grandmother to Gregory Gahard and his wife Montell, as well as Grant Gahard and his wife Avery. Penny is survived by her brother, David Novosel, and his wife Kathy, along with nephews and niece David J. Novosel, Nancy Quintana, Michael Novosel and their families.
Penny had a zest for life and a deep love for her family and friends. She adored live music performances and was an avid outdoor enthusiast for many years, taking full advantage of the beauty that Colorado Springs had to offer. Penny was also a strong advocate for local businesses and attractions, always eager to share her favorite spots with everyone.
Professionally, Penny had a successful career at Banc One, where she served as Vice President of Trust for many years. Her dedication and expertise made her an invaluable asset to the company.
In her free time, Penny enjoyed skiing, a hobby that brought her much joy and fulfillment. She embraced the thrill of gliding down the slopes, creating cherished memories along the way.
