Patricia (Pat) grew up in Denver and was one of seven children born to William Trostle and Opal Knadler Trostle (both deceased). She was a graduate of South High School. She married her husband, Burton McCallister, in 1950 and not long after they moved to Colorado Springs. They were together for 72 years until his passing in 2021.
She was employed by LooArt Press/Current, Inc. and Connecticut Mutual Life. Although she was raising four children and working, she still found time to participate in other activities. She was the assistant leader of her daughters’ Campfire Girls troop and Den Mother for her son’s Cub Scout pack. She also volunteered for Junior Achievement and in the early 1970s was named Woman of the Year by the Colorado Springs’s chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. Later, she volunteered for Penrose St. Francis Auxiliary, and the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.
She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed many needlework crafts. She enjoyed travel in her younger years and had a keen interest in genealogy.
She is survived by her three daughters, Peggy Weber (Mike), Nancy Cass (Bob, deceased), and Betsy McCallister; a daughter-in-law, Barbara McCallister (Doug, deceased); five grandchildren, Taryn Cass, Kyle Weber, Kelli Cass, Christopher Alwood (Jennifer), and Courtney Weber; and two great grandchildren, McKenna and Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burt McCallister, her son, Douglas McCallister, her son-in-law, Robert Cass, and her 6 siblings: Wallace Trostle, William Trostle, David Trostle, Ruth Jones, Betty Jones, and Carolyn Coulter.
Pat had a long, full life and created so many wonderful memories for her family. She was truly the best mom and grandma. We will miss her deeply and forever but will hold tight to her legacy.
A private ceremony to celebrate Pat's life will be held at a later date.
