Pat was born on September 14, 1921 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the only child of Herbert and Mary Herminghaus. She graduated from Lincoln High, and the University of Nebraska, and remained a lifelong " Big Red" fan. Her school days set the tone for her enthusiasm in being involved in groups and activities. She was a talented dancer and lent those talents to reviews and shows supporting the WWII efforts.
After college, she ventured to Sun Valley, Idaho to work, where she met her first husband, Robert Barrett. She was an "Army Wife" for 10 years before divorcing. Pat married Romane Moeller in 1965 and remained married to him for 38 years, until his passing in 2003. They were very involved in District 20 boards and activities when the "kids" were attending Air Academy High, and rarely missed a football, or basketball game, wrestling match or swim meet. They had season tickets to the AFA football games for many years.
During her years in Colorado Springs, she was involved in many boards and organizations, and enjoyed the life of a freelance writer, submitting articles to the Colorado Spring Sun, The Pikes Peak Journal and The Cheyenne Edition.
She loved to travel, and she and Romane took many trips together all around the world.
