It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Clayton Brandenstein, a devoted husband, cherished father, and beloved grandfather. Paul peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2025 surrounded by his loving family after an arduous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Paul was born in October 1960 in Oneonta, NY, to Ward and Rose Ann Brandenstein. He lived a life marked by his faith in Christ, love for his family, and passion for his profession. He was a pillar of strength and steadfastness to all who knew him. Paul shared a beautiful marriage of 41 years with his beloved wife, Carmen. Their love and devotion to each other were evident throughout their lives together. They were blessed with three children: Philip Brandenstein, Ellen (Brandenstein) Dillavou and Lauren (Brandenstein) Cowan. He was also the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren (Peregrinn, Ophelia, Julian, Abigail, James, Emmett, Bailey and Evelyn) who brought immense happiness and joy into his life.
A devout Christian, Paul was a faithful member of Vista Grande Baptist Church, where he served faithfully for 36 years with great delight. His faith and commitment to the Lord were the foundation of his life and the legacy he leaves behind.
In addition to his family and faith, Paul had a passion for motorcycle riding as well as his career which brought him great joy and fulfillment. He was a man of many talents and interests and invested fully into the things he enjoyed.
Paul will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Paul is survived by his father, Ward Brandenstein, as well as his brother Bill Brandenstein. He was predeceased by his mother, Rose Ann Brandenstein.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held on Thursday, February 20 at 6:30pm at Vista Grande Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Vista Grande Baptist Church, a ministry that was dear to Paul's heart.
We take comfort in knowing that Paul is now in the presence of the Lord, praising his Savior and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him. He has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
