Paul Eugene Hays

Paul was born in Denver on March 16, 1951. He graduated high school in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he lettered in wrestling as team manager. He had a life-long love of that sport and faithfully attended the State Wrestling Championships in Denver each year.

Paul lived for a time in Wyoming where he worked for a radio and television station as a technician and broadcaster. He returned to Colorado and worked for Atmel in Colorado Springs. Paul was proud of his Irish heritage and took great enjoyment from his annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with his friends.

Paul loved God and was active in Sunnyside Christian Church. He did a memorable performance as “Walter” in the Christmas play “Between the Giants”. He also volunteered at the Marion House, the Humane Society the Colorado Springs Public Library, and CanCare.

Paul touched many lives and was loved by all.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at Sunnyside Christian Church, 2025 N. Murray Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915 on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Visitation and viewing at 5:00 pm and service at 6:00 pm.

Paul is survived by a sister, Helen (Bob) Brockman, and brothers George (Dorothy) Hays and Duane (Vanessa) Hays. Nieces Tracy (Kevin) McChesney, Darla (Stewart) Hays Stremel, Kaley Burton, Brittany (Matt) Vargas, nephews Todd (Julia) Brockman, Bryon (Lynzie) Hays as well as several great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s name to the Children’s Ministry at Sunnyside Christian Church would be appreciated.
