Passed to his eternal life – December 20, 2011
Bill (Perry) Moon, the only child of William and Estella Moon, was born and raised in Hand County, South Dakota. In March 1944, Bill was drafted into the Navy. He later attended Pasadena Nazarene College where he met the love of his life, Juanita. They were married August 16, 1946 in Pueblo, CO. They remained devoted companions for 65 years.
Bill loved the Lord and was a faithful believer. He and Juanita served as missionaries under the auspices of the Nazarene Church from 1956 until 1988. Bill’s duties involved supervising a block of about 40 schools maintained by the mission for Swazi children. He also spent the last 3 years of his career in service to the youth of Mozambique.
For eleven years after his retirement, Bill managed the book store for the Nazarene Bible College. He also spent time writing a book about the history of the Nazarene Schools in Swaziland.
Bill was always grateful for 15 years of abundant life after having been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He was always careful to give God praise for relieving him from his cancer.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Juanita, daughter Beverly Bradley (husband Jay), son Mike (wife Valerie); and granddaughters Kirstin and Caitlin Bradley; and Jennifer Moon Henderson (Mark) and Lindsay Moon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Williams Moon Scholarship Fund (for Mozambique seminary students) through care of the Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene, 4120 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
