Scott Frantz was born in Colorado Springs on December 30, 1956 to Reverend Philip Scott Frantz Jr. and Elizabeth (Harnett) Frantz. Scott grew up in Lima, Ohio, and in 1977 his family returned to Colorado Springs.
Scott's life-long passion for Jesus, music, family, and the outdoors defined his life. He was an avid audio-video enthusiast, and pursued that vocation serving in churches as well as his professional business. Scott learned guitar at a young age and continued playing throughout his life in worship and home settings.
Scott's love for his family showed in all aspects of life. He was never happier than when taking long drives to the mountains with his music playing, looking forward to a day of hiking, laughing, teaching, and exploring with his whole crew. His favorite past time was river fishing, and his children and grandchildren inherited a love for fishing, camping, and discovering nature from him. He was an excellent cook who loved to make and share delicious meals with friends and family, and as a keen gardener he loved sharing his successes and failures with his gardening buddies. He's remembered by those who loved him as a man of many talents, who loved sharing his knowledge, and bringing joy to many with his great sense of humor.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Gretchen Frantz. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Vicky Frantz, and children Wyatt (Megan) Frantz and Olivia (Randel) Raver, as well as grandchildren Mylo, Lydia, and Wesley Raver.
He touched many people's lives and helped show them how to know Jesus. He ran his race well and stepped into eternity on June 13th, 2024. Scott will be dearly missed by his family and friends until we are reunited again with him in Heaven.
A Celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, at 11:00 AM at River City Vineyard, 245 S. Raynolds Ave, Canon City. A reception with lunch to follow.
